Vacuoles
Vacuoles are large membrane-bound sacs that store nutrients.
Structure:
-membrane-bound organelle that holds nutrients and waste products
-in a plant cell: sometimes holds water
Function:
-in plant cells: vacuole is holding cell; there is 1 central vacuole;central vacuole holds nutrients
-in animal cells: vacuoles hold fats and proteins; vacuole pumps out excess water
